Gaza – (PIC) – 27 January

The official media office in Gaza has announced that Palestinian residents in Gaza City and northern governorates urgently need 135,000 tents and shelters.

In a statement, the office highlighted that over 90% of the infrastructure in these areas has been destroyed by the occupying Israeli forces. It called on the international community, global organizations, United Nations agencies, and Arab countries to work on opening crossings and providing shelter supplies for citizens returning to their areas.

The office noted that more than 5,500 government employees from southern and central governorates are actively working to assist displaced individuals returning to Gaza City and northern regions. These employees are stationed at various government offices, ministries, and institutions to support the return process.

This morning, thousands of displaced individuals began returning to northern Gaza’s valleys as part of the implementation of the ceasefire agreement. The return was marked by great enthusiasm and a sense of hope among Palestinians.

In an earlier statement, Salama Marouf, head of the official media office, emphasized that government cadres, in collaboration with various social sectors, worked tirelessly to make this day a model of national unity and social harmony.
