Hyderabad: Fire Incident in Dewan Devdi, Several Shops Suffer Major Damage

Hyderabad, 10 February – (DeccanLive.com): A sudden fire broke out in Hyderabad’s famous Dewan Devdi Market on Sunday night, causing panic and chaos in the area. The fire started in the Medina and Abbas Towers, a commercial complex with around 200 shops.

Reports say the fire began on the fourth floor in one shop and quickly spread to nearby shops, damaging shops on the third floor as well. To control the situation, officials called 15 fire tenders from different fire stations in Hyderabad.

After much effort, the fire was brought under control. The cause of the fire is still unknown, and the police have started an investigation by filing a case.

According to sources, many clothing shops were heavily damaged, and the loss is estimated to be in lakhs of rupees.

Local MLA Mir Zulfiqar Ali and other community leaders visited the site and supported the administration. Firefighters faced challenges in controlling the fire due to the narrow lanes in the area.
