Telangana New Ration Card: Deleting Names from Old Ration Cards is Necessary for New Applications

Hyderabad, 12 February – (DeccanLive.com): After the government’s announcement to accept applications for new ration cards, there has been a huge rush at Mee Seva centers and ration card offices in the city.

For new ration card applications, Aadhaar cards and electricity bills are required. If the applicant’s name is still listed on old ration cards or their parents’ ration cards, the applications are not being accepted at Mee Seva centers. Applicants are being advised to visit the respective circle office to delete their names from the old ration cards. As a result, there has been a large gathering of people, especially women, at ration card offices in the old city.

At these offices, requests to remove names from old ration cards are being accepted. Assistant Supply Officer Mohammad Aslam Khan of Circle 3, Hussaini Alam, mentioned that the queue of applicants requesting name deletions has been long. Thousands of applications have been received in the past two days. After processing these applications online and deleting the names, the process of issuing new ration cards will begin. Applications for new ration cards with names still listed on old cards will not be accepted.

If someone wants to add the names of their children or other family members to an old ration card, they must first delete the names from the previous card. For registering the names of young children, parents can submit applications with the child’s Aadhaar card and birth certificate at Mee Seva.

Additionally, if a married woman wants to apply for a new ration card, she must delete her name from her parents’ ration cards and submit her application online at Mee Seva with her Aadhaar card, marriage certificate or Nikah Nama copy, and an electricity bill copy.
