Egyptian Defense Minister Orders Armed Forces to Stay on High Alert

Cairo, 12 February – (PIC): Egypt’s Defense Minister, Lieutenant General Abdel Mageed Saqr, has urged the Third Field Army personnel to maintain a high level of readiness to ensure the armed forces can carry out missions in various scenarios.
The defense minister made this statement on Tuesday during his visit to the Third Field Army’s centers, where the central phase of the mobilization command centers’ plan was being implemented.
According to Egyptian army spokesman Brigadier General Gharib Abdel Hafiz, the phase has been ongoing for several days and involves combat line training for the army formations and units.
The defense minister was briefed on the execution of the plan by several individuals involved, focusing on how they would handle unexpected situations and make optimal decisions during missions.
The primary mission of the Third Field Army is to secure the Sinai province and Egypt’s border, which is adjacent to the Gaza Strip.
Sources reveal that Egypt has two plans for rebuilding Gaza without displacing its population. Egypt has made it clear that it will not allocate any land for the Gaza population to reside in.
These sources also confirmed that Egypt has already rejected three proposals regarding Gaza, all of which involved forced displacement and non-return. Egypt has asked Washington to clarify President Trump’s statement about imposing sanctions.
Egypt is set to host an emergency Arab League summit on February 27 to discuss the developments in the Palestinian issue. The summit will focus on the current serious situation regarding Palestine, and a resolution rejecting forced displacement, along with a unified Arab stance, will be issued.
