Telangana Government to Allow Muslim Employees Early Leave During Ramzan

Hyderabad, 17 February – (www.deccanlive.com): The Telangana government has announced that Muslim employees will be allowed to leave their offices one hour early during the holy month of Ramzan. This decision was made through an order issued by Chief Secretary Santhi Kumari on Monday.

The order states that all Muslim government employees, including teachers, contract workers, and employees of boards, corporations, and public sector offices, will be permitted to leave their workplaces at 4 p.m. from March 2 to March 31, 2025 (depending on the sighting of the moon). The early departure is to help them perform necessary prayers, except when their presence is required due to urgent work.

In addition, the Minorities Welfare Department has made special arrangements at the historic Makkah Masjid and Shahi Masjid (Royal Mosque) for the month of Ramzan. These arrangements include facilities for worshippers and special provisions for Taraweeh prayers, which are held every night during the month.

The department has also announced that high-quality dates (Khajoor) will be provided to various mosques, including Makkah Masjid, Charminar, Royal Mosque, Nampally, and Secretariat Mosque, based on the requirements given by the District Minority Welfare Officer in Hyderabad.
