Muslim World Must Intervene Militarily to Stop Palestinian Genocide: International Union of Muslim Scholars
Istanbul, 6 April (www.deccanlive.com): The International Union of Muslim Scholars has declared that it is the duty of every capable Muslim in the Islamic world to respond to the Israeli aggression in Gaza using weapons and military support.
In a statement released on Friday, which acts like a religious ruling (fatwa), the union confirmed that it is both the individual and collective responsibility of Muslim governments and people to militarily intervene to stop the attacks on unarmed Palestinians in Gaza.
The fatwa states that the first responsibility to fight the occupying Israeli forces lies with the Palestinian people, followed by neighboring countries like Egypt, Jordan, and Lebanon, and then the rest of the Arab and Muslim countries.
It strongly emphasized that after the killing of over 50,000 people in Gaza, Muslim governments must take immediate military, economic, and political action to stop this genocide and destruction, as per their moral and religious responsibilities.
The council also declared that providing any kind of support or supplies to Israel is forbidden (haram). It is haram to allow Israel to use ports, international waterways like the Suez Canal, Bab al-Mandab, Strait of Hormuz, or any other land, sea, or air routes for transportation.
The fatwa called for a complete blockade (air, land, and sea) against the occupying Israeli forces to support the people of Gaza, who are being brutally wiped out in front of the entire world.
The scholars also urged Muslim countries to unite and form a military alliance to protect Palestine. The statement said Muslims must defend their religion, blood, resources, decisions, and honor.
This, they said, is an urgent need that cannot be delayed, especially due to the corruption and destruction spreading across the world.
The council also called on all Arab countries to cancel their agreements with Israel to increase pressure on the occupying regime.
