Elon Musk Announces New Political Party: “The America Party”
Washington, 6 July – (www.deccanlive.com): Famous American businessman and tech leader Elon Musk has announced the creation of a new political party called “The America Party.” He said this decision was made in response to the growing public desire for political change.
On his social media platform X, Musk said:
“Two to one, people want a new political party — and now they’re going to get one!”
He strongly criticized the current political system in the U.S., saying:
“When a country becomes nearly bankrupt due to waste and corruption, that is not democracy — it’s a system where one party controls everything.”
The Goal: Freedom for the American People
Musk explained that the purpose of The America Party is to “give freedom back to the American people” and to provide a real alternative to the current failing political system.
He also addressed his changing views about former President Donald Trump. When someone on X asked why he used to support Trump but now criticizes him, Musk replied:
“When the budget deficit goes from \$2 trillion to \$2.5 trillion, it’s a path to bankruptcy and disaster for the country.”
Asking the Public for Support
On Independence Day, Musk asked his followers on X:
“Do we want freedom from the two-party system? Should we start The America Party?”
This came just one day after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a major tax and spending bill by a narrow margin (218 votes to 214), which now awaits Trump’s signature.
Starting Small but Strong
Musk suggested that the new party should focus on winning just a few key seats in the beginning.
He said:
“If we concentrate on 2 or 3 Senate seats and 8 to 10 House districts, we can make a real difference in closely contested areas. This way, the will of the people can be truly represented.”
Tensions with Donald Trump
Recently, Musk and Trump have had several public disagreements, even though they were seen together at a White House event some time ago.
At that time, Trump had thanked Musk for his “short but effective role in government service.”
It’s also worth noting that Musk led a department called “Department of Government Efficiency” (DOGE) until the end of May.
The goal of this department was to reduce government spending.
