Azharuddin Says Jubilee Hills By-election Is More Important Than HCA Issues

Hyderabad, 15 July – (www.deccanlive.com): Former Indian cricket captain Mohammad Azharuddin has reacted to the recent developments in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA). Speaking to Media on Tuesday, Azharuddin said that corruption has become very common in the HCA and he is no longer interested in getting involved with it.
He stated, “When rules are not followed, problems like these are bound to happen. There are many issues in the HCA. An association should not run with personal benefits. The current president was arrested because of forgery, so all the wrongdoings need to be exposed. BCCI should now focus on what’s happening in the HCA.”
Azhar also accused HCA of favoritism, saying that only children of members and coaches are being allowed to play cricket. He alleged that there is corruption even in the selection process and that it has become a common issue.
Switching focus to politics, Azharuddin revealed that if his party allows it, he is ready to contest in the upcoming Jubilee Hills by-election. He confirmed, “I am in the race for Jubilee Hills. Contesting in that by-election is my main priority now, more than anything happening in HCA.”
Azharuddin’s statement clearly shows his shift from cricket administration to active politics, as he aims to make an impact in the Jubilee Hills Assembly constituency.
