Wife Mixes Poison in Cool Drink, Husband Dies During Treatment in Warangal

Vardhannapet – Warangal, 16 July – (www.deccanlive.com): A shocking incident occurred where a woman allegedly poisoned her husband by mixing pesticide in a cool drink, leading to his death while undergoing treatment at a hospital.
According to Vardhannapet SI Chander, the victim, Jatothu Balaji (44), belonged to Bhavanikunta Tanda village in Warangal district. On July 8, during a local festival celebration at his home, Balaji told his wife Kanthi that he was going out to drink alcohol.
Kanthi reportedly told him not to go out, as there was liquor at home. She then went into the kitchen and mixed pesticide (grass killer) in a cool drink and gave it to Balaji.
Shortly after drinking it, Balaji started complaining of throat pain. Instead of helping him, Kanthi left the house and went to the home of her brother-in-law Vankudothu Dasharu, who lives in the same village.
Villagers noticed Balaji’s worsening condition and rushed him to Vardhannapet Government Hospital. From there, doctors referred him to MGM Hospital in Warangal, and later he was shifted to a private hospital in Hanamkonda on July 13. Unfortunately, he died on Tuesday morning during treatment, the SI confirmed.
Police say that Kanthi deliberately gave the poison, encouraged by her brother-in-law Dasharu, due to ongoing quarrels with her husband.
The deceased leaves behind a daughter and a son. Following a complaint by Balaji’s father, police have registered a case and launched an investigation.
