Ranveer Allahbadia Gets Supreme Court Relief, Allowed to Resume Show with a Condition

New Delhi, 3 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Supreme Court has granted relief to YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia, allowing him to resume broadcasting The Ranveer Show on social media. However, the court has imposed a strict condition that he must maintain decency in his content.

Ranveer Allahbadia was previously embroiled in controversy due to inappropriate comments about parents. He had appealed to the court, stating that his show was his only source of income and requested permission to upload new episodes. The court ruled in his favor but emphasized the importance of respectful content.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta opposed Allahbadia’s petition, arguing that his comments on India’s Got Latent were obscene and inappropriate. Mehta suggested that Allahbadia should be kept silent for some time, but the court decided otherwise and granted him relief.

Supreme Court Orders Social Media Regulation Guidelines

The Supreme Court has instructed the central government to create guidelines for regulating social media content. The court emphasized the need to seek input from all stakeholders and maintain a balance between morality and freedom of expression.

Ranveer Allahbadia Denied Foreign Travel Permission

While granting Ranveer Allahbadia permission to resume The Ranveer Show, the court has denied him the right to travel abroad until he fully cooperates with the investigation. Additionally, he is prohibited from discussing this matter on his show.

Allahbadia Must Give an Assurance

Previously, the court had completely banned Allahbadia from uploading any content. However, while allowing him to restart his show, the court mandated that he must commit to maintaining ethical standards, ensuring his content is suitable for viewers of all ages.

Ranveer Allahbadia, popularly known as BeerBiceps Guy, sparked controversy last month on India’s Got Latent. During an episode hosted by comedian Samay Raina, he made an inappropriate remark, asking a contestant:
“Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to make it stop forever?”
