Boy and Girl Found Hanging from Bridge in Saharanpur: Police Suspect Honor Killing

Saharanpur, 13 March – (www.deccanlive.com): On Wednesday, the bodies of a boy and a girl were found hanging with a rope from a bridge over the Hindon River in Saharanpur. Police arrived at the scene immediately after receiving the information. The bodies were identified and sent for a post-mortem.

It is suspected that this could be a case of honor killing, although police are also investigating the possibility of suicide. The incident took place in the Badgaon police station area.

The boy and girl were from Naya Gaon, and their houses were located opposite each other. It is believed that they had been in a relationship for a long time. Both had been missing from their homes since Tuesday afternoon.

The girl was a student in 11th grade. On Tuesday morning, she left home, saying she was going to the library and coaching center. When she didn’t return home by the evening, her family informed the police.

On Wednesday morning, the girl’s family filed a complaint against a young man living nearby, accusing him of luring and kidnapping the girl. However, a few hours later, the bodies of both were found hanging from a beam on the Ganga Canal Crossing Bridge.

A bike without a registration number was also found near the scene. It is suspected that the boy and girl came to the location on the bike and then committed suicide.

CO Ravikant Parashar said that the crime scene has been examined, and statements from the families of both the boy and girl are being recorded. The cause of death will be confirmed after the post-mortem report and further investigation.
