Breaking News: CPI Leader Shot Dead in Brutal Firing in Hyderabad’s Malakpet

Hyderabad, 15 July – (www.deccanlive.com): In a shocking crime during daylight, a CPI leader was brutally murdered in Hyderabad. The incident took place early in the morning in Shalivahana Nagar Park, located in Malakpet. Chandu Rathod, a CPI leader who had gone for a morning walk, was shot dead by unknown assailants.
According to eyewitnesses, while Rathod was returning home after his walk with a few friends, the attackers first threw chilli powder into his eyes to blind him. Then they chased him and fired four rounds from a gun. The assailants quickly fled the scene in a Swift car.
Chandu Rathod originally belongs to Achampet in Nagarkurnool district but had been living with his family in Chaitanyapuri, Hyderabad, for some time. Police suspect five people were involved in the shooting.
Family members of the victim suspect that an old political rival, CPI leader Rajesh, may be behind the murder. They mentioned that Rathod and Rajesh had disputes for a long time. Police registered a case and started an investigation, stating that initial findings suggest old personal or political enmity could be the reason for the murder. The victim’s body has been sent for postmortem.
