Shamsheer Khan Proven Innocent After 10 Years in Murder Case – Released by Telangana High Court

Adilabad, 14 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Telangana High Court has declared Shamsheer Khan, a man from Adilabad district, innocent after 10 years in a murder case. He was sentenced to life imprisonment by the lower court but has now been released.
This case happened on February 20, 2014, when a person named Karthik was murdered. Shamsheer Khan was arrested for this crime. On January 5, 2018, the district court sentenced him to life imprisonment.
Shamsheer Khan appealed to the High Court against this decision. After reviewing the case, Justice K. Surender canceled the lower court’s judgment and declared him innocent. The court pointed out that the evidence provided by the prosecution was full of doubts.
The court also noted that the murder was reported on the evening of February 20, 2014, but the police were officially informed the next day. The 16-hour delay was not explained properly, making the case even more suspicious. The two key witnesses presented by the prosecution also turned out to be unreliable.
One witness, who had claimed to be present at the crime scene, later told the court that he did not know who the murderer was. Additionally, there was no evidence of any shop belonging to the witness at the crime scene, and it was also unclear why he was there at that time.
