Cow Smugglers Will Be Shot Publicly: Karnataka Minister

Bengaluru, February 4 – (DeccanLive.com): In response to increasing incidents of cow theft in Karnataka’s Uttara Kannada district, district in-charge Minister Mankal S. Vaidya made a strong statement. He declared that those found involved in cow smuggling would be shot publicly, whether on the streets or at intersections. The minister assured that such activities would not be tolerated in the district and emphasized that the administration is taking all necessary steps to protect the interests of cows and their caretakers. His remarks came after the recent slaughter of a cow near Honnavar.
Minister Vaidya stated, “Cow theft has been happening for several years. I have instructed the Superintendent of Police to ensure these incidents stop at any cost. It is wrong. We worship cows and lovingly raise them. We grew up drinking their milk.” He further said that clear instructions have been given to the police to take strict action against anyone involved in such crimes. Arrests have already been made in some cases.
“Perhaps I Shouldn’t Say This, But…”
Vaidya added, “If such incidents continue, perhaps I shouldn’t say this, but I will ensure that the culprits are shot on the streets or at intersections. Work hard, earn, and live. There are plenty of job opportunities in our district. However, we will not tolerate those involved in cow smuggling at any cost.”
The minister also pointed out that similar incidents had occurred in the past when the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) was in power. He criticized the opposition for remaining silent on this issue while in government and accused them of politicizing it now.
