Comedian Kunal Kamra’s Studio Vandalized in Mumbai After Satirical Video on Shinde; Arrest Demanded
Mumbai, 24 March – (www.deccanlive.com): A video by comedian Kunal Kamra, mocking Maharashtra politics, has sparked controversy. In the video, Kamra indirectly made fun of Deputy CM Eknath Shinde.
After the video surfaced on Sunday, supporters of the Shinde faction of Shiv Sena became furious. A large group of them gathered outside The Unicontinental office in Mumbai late Sunday night, where the video was allegedly shot.
The Shiv Sena supporters vandalized Kamra’s studio and later went to the Khar Police Station to file a complaint. They demanded the immediate arrest of Kunal Kamra.
Shiv Sena leader Sanjay Raut reacted to the incident, saying, “Just one song has made them so uncomfortable!”

Krishna Hegde, spokesperson of the Shinde faction, demanded the immediate arrest of comedian Kunal Kamra by Mumbai Police. He stated that using such words for the Deputy CM is completely unacceptable and warned that Kamra would be treated in the “Shiv Sena style.”
Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut reacted on social media platform X, saying, “Kunal Kamra is a well-known writer and stand-up comedian. He wrote a satirical song on Maharashtra politics, and the Shinde gang couldn’t tolerate it. Their people vandalized Kamra’s studio. Devendraji, you are a weak Home Minister!”
Shiv Sena MP Naresh Mhaske threatened Kamra, saying, “Not only in Maharashtra, but we will not let you roam freely in the entire country. You are taking money from the UBT faction and Sanjay Raut to make comments against Eknath Shinde. We are Bal Thackeray’s Shiv Sainiks, and if we go after you, you will have to leave India!”
