House Fire in Hyderabad: Three Family Members Dead

Hyderabad, 1 March – (www.deccanlive.com): A fire broke out in a grocery shop on the ground floor of an apartment in Poppalguda, a suburban area of the city. The fire started due to an electric shock and quickly spread to nearby parked vehicles and the first floor of the building.
On the first floor, two gas cylinders caught fire and exploded, worsening the situation.
In this tragic incident, Jamila Begum (70), Shahana Begum (38), and Sajra Begum (7) were trapped inside their home. They were rescued and taken to the hospital but did not survive.
As soon as the fire was reported, the fire brigade team arrived at the scene and brought the flames under control.
According to details, the fire started due to a short circuit in a refrigerator inside a grocery store on the ground floor of the building. As the fire spread, a car parked nearby also caught fire, leading to thick smoke filling the area.
On the first floor, 7-year-old Sidra, 70-year-old Jamila, and 40-year-old Shahana were trapped in a room. Due to the heavy smoke, they lost consciousness and were immediately taken to the hospital, where doctors declared them dead.
At the time of the fire, eight people were inside the G+2 (parking + two floors) building. Some residents jumped from the roof to escape, sustaining minor injuries, while others were rescued by firefighters. Usman, a long-time resident of the building, ran a grocery store near the parking area.
The staircase was located inside the parking area, leaving no escape route for those trapped inside. Local residents, along with police and firefighters, bravely rescued five people and also removed gas cylinders from the building to prevent further danger.
Police have registered a case and are investigating the incident from multiple angles.
