Cricketer Dies of Heart Attack Just After Hitting a Six

Firozpur, 30 June – (www.deccanlive.com): A very sad incident happened in Firozpur, Punjab, where a 27-year-old local cricketer died on the pitch due to a heart attack during a cricket match.

This young cricketer, Harjeet Singh, was playing for his local club team. On Sunday, he was batting in a local cricket match. When he reached 43 runs, he hit a six. After that, he was just 1 run away from his half-century.

As soon as he hit the six, he started walking towards the non-striker end to shake hands with his partner. But suddenly, he fell on his knees and collapsed on the pitch. His body stopped moving.

The other players quickly ran towards him and tried to give him CPR (a life-saving emergency technique), but sadly it didn’t help. He was immediately taken to the hospital, but doctors said he had already died on the pitch.

Harjeet’s teammate at the non-striker end was Rachit Sodhi. Harjeet was going to shake hands with him just before he collapsed. Sodhi later told a newspaper that Harjeet was a carpenter by profession, and he loved playing cricket. Harjeet was married and had a young son.
