Hyderabad: Shawwal Crescent Sighted, Eid-ul-Fitr to be Celebrated on Monday, March 31
Hyderabad, 30 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee of Sadar Majlis-e-Ulama-e-Deccan held its monthly meeting on Sunday, March 30, 2025, at Hussaini Building, Moazzam Jahi Market, Hyderabad (Telangana) to confirm the sighting of the Shawwal moon. The meeting was supervised by Hazrat Maulana Syed Hassan Ibrahim Hussaini Qadri Sajjad Pasha.
The committee officially announced that the crescent moon of Shawwal has been sighted, confirming that Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Monday, March 31. The committee extended heartfelt Eid greetings to Muslims across the world.
Following the announcement, bustling Eid shopping scenes were witnessed across various cities and districts in India, as people rushed to make their final preparations.
Eid Prayer Timings in Hyderabad
- Mir Alam Eidgah: The largest Eid prayer in Hyderabad will be held at 10:00 AM. A special speech will be delivered by Maulana Professor Muhammad Saifullah (9:00 AM – 9:30 AM), followed by Maulana Muhammad Husamuddin Sani Aqil Jafar Pasha (9:30 AM – 10:00 AM). The prayer will be led by Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Rizwan Qureshi, Imam of Mecca Masjid.
- Haj House Mosque, Nampally: Eid prayer will take place at 7:20 AM, with a sermon by Maulana Hafiz Muhammad Sabir Pasha Qadri.
Guidelines for Worshippers
- Perform wudu (ablution) at home before coming to the Eidgah or mosque.
- Due to the hot weather, it is advised not to bring young children to the Eidgah.
- Carry a bottle of drinking water and a prayer mat if possible.
- Arrive before the prayer time to avoid delays.
- Follow the Sunnah of taking one route to the Eidgah and returning home via another.
