Major Hamas Attack in Gaza: 5 Israeli Soldiers Killed, 14 Injured

Gaza, 8 July – (www.deccanlive.com): In North Gaza’s Beit Hanoun area, Hamas fighters carried out a major attack on Israeli occupying forces. During this attack, 5 Israeli soldiers were killed and at least 14 others were seriously injured. One Israeli soldier is still missing. These details were shared by Israeli media sources.

The attack happened when the fighters targeted an armored vehicle carrying Israeli soldiers. First, they used a powerful explosive to destroy the vehicle. After that, they used an anti-tank missile to destroy a robot filled with explosives.

When Israeli rescue teams arrived at the scene, the Hamas fighters also targeted them. According to Israeli media, the sound of the explosion was so loud that it was heard in cities like Ashdod and Ashkelon, and it was described as a “major blast.” A senior officer was also among the injured.

The soldiers who were killed belonged to Israel’s ‘Yahalom’ unit. This unit is known for destroying Hamas homes in Gaza. Al Jazeera’s reporter in Palestine, Najwan Samri, confirmed this.

After the attack, Israeli helicopters came to the area to rescue the injured. They also started heavy firing. Israeli sources said the situation is still ongoing. One soldier is missing, and many military vehicles are on fire. The whole area is in a state of chaos and panic.

In recent weeks, resistance attacks have increased sharply. Many Israeli soldiers and officers have been killed or injured.

Israeli media reports say that June was the deadliest month for their soldiers, with 20 killed. A few days ago, Israel admitted that 6 soldiers and one officer were killed near Khan Younis in South Gaza. Earlier, they had reported only 4 deaths and 17 injuries.

Last week, in North Gaza’s Shuja’iyya area, Hamas fighters carried out 3 separate attacks in just 3 hours. These attacks targeted Israel’s elite 98th Battalion. One soldier from the Egoz Unit was killed, and 8 were injured — 3 of them in critical condition.
