Meet Krombi: The World’s Smallest Goat from Kerala, Only One Foot Tall!

Thiruvananthapuram, 23 March – (www.deccanlive.com): In Kerala, India, farmer Peter Leno has always loved his tiny pygmy goats, which often playfully circle around his legs. However, one day, a visitor pointed out the exceptionally small size of one of his goats. That’s when Peter realized he might have a world-record-breaking goat!

Peter, who comes from a farming family, said, “I take special care to maintain the genetic traits of my animals.” But Krombi, a tiny black female pygmy goat, was truly special. She stands only 1 foot 3 inches (40.50 cm) tall and, at four years old, holds the title of the smallest living goat in the world!

Born in 2021, Krombi belongs to the Canadian Pygmy Goat breed, which is known for its compact size. These goats have genetic dwarfism, making their legs shorter, growing only up to 21 inches (53 cm) at most.

Krombi’s highest body point—measured between her front legs and shoulders—is just 1.4 feet (42.7 cm), while her body length is only 1.1 feet (33.5 cm). Truly a miniature goat!

Despite being the smallest on the farm, Krombi is playful and loves to interact with bigger goats. She shares her home with three male goats, nine female goats, and ten kids, along with cows, rabbits, chickens, and ducks.

Recently, Peter received exciting news—Krombi, along with her four-month-old baby, is expecting another baby soon!

A visitor suggested that Peter apply for a Guinness World Record. After taking Krombi to a vet for age, health, and size verification, he was thrilled to learn that his goat met all the world record criteria.

Peter proudly stated, “As a farmer, receiving this record would be an honor for all farmers and agricultural communities.”

He promised to take great care of Krombi and is eagerly waiting to see how tiny her next baby will be.
