MLC Elections: MIM vs BJP in Hyderabad – Whom Will Congress and BRS Support? How Many Total Voters?

Hyderabad, 4 April (www.deccanlive.com): The political atmosphere in Hyderabad is heating up due to the upcoming MLC (Member of Legislative Council) elections for local bodies. A tough contest is expected between AIMIM (All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen) and BJP (Bharatiya Janata Party).

At the last moment, BJP announced its candidate Gautam Rao, who submitted his nomination along with other party leaders. He said he is fully confident about winning the election.

BJP Blames Congress and BRS
Union Minister and MP Bandi Sanjay accused Congress and BRS of secretly helping AIMIM. He said both parties had joined together by voting against the Waqf Board Bill in Parliament, and now they are staying away from the MLC election to indirectly support AIMIM.

Raja Singh Upset Over Candidate Choice
BJP MLA Raja Singh expressed anger over the selection of Gautam Rao. He questioned why no better candidate was found from Hyderabad. He criticized the party leadership for ignoring senior leaders and active workers. However, BJP leaders are trying to calm him down through discussions.

AIMIM Candidate: Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan
AIMIM has selected Mirza Riyaz Ul Hassan as its MLC candidate. He has already served as MLC and corporator in the past. AIMIM is confident that he will win again.

Total Voters and Party Position
Since Congress and BRS are not contesting, the fight is now directly between AIMIM and BJP.

Total voters: 112, which includes:

  • 81 Corporators
  • 15 MLAs
  • 9 MPs
  • 7 MLCs

Party strength:

  • AIMIM: 49
  • BRS: 24
  • BJP: 25
