Palestinians Will Not Leave Their Homeland at Any Cost: Al-Aqsa Mosque Imam Akrama Sabri

Tunis, 6 February – (PIC): Sheikh Akrama Sabri, the head of the Supreme Islamic Council in Jerusalem and the Imam of Al-Aqsa Mosque, has firmly stated that Palestinians will remain steadfast on their homeland and will not back down, no matter the cost.
Speaking at a ceremony at the University of Ez-Zitouna in Tunis on Wednesday, Sheikh Sabri emphasized that Palestinians’ stance on displacement has been clear for decades. He declared, “Our land is our home, and we will remain firm on it, no matter the price we have to pay.”
He also urged neighboring Arab countries to remain steadfast in their stance against Palestinian displacement and resist American pressures.
Former U.S. President Donald Trump had previously announced plans for the United States to take control of Gaza and insisted on implementing his proposal for the forced displacement of Palestinians. During a press conference at the White House with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Trump stated, “The United States will take control of the Gaza Strip.”
For the past 16 months, Washington has supported a campaign of genocide and ethnic cleansing in Gaza, imposed by the occupying Israeli forces against Palestinian civilians. This aggression began on October 7, 2023, with American support, resulting in over 159,000 deaths and injuries, the majority being women and children. Additionally, more than 14,000 people remain missing.
