Raja Singh Resigns from BJP

Hyderabad, 30 June – (www.deccanlive.com): A major political twist has shaken the Telangana BJP, as Goshamahal MLA Raja Singh announced his resignation from the party on Monday.

After a long gap, Raja Singh visited the BJP office, and shortly after arriving, he publicly declared his resignation. His decision has drawn wide attention.

Why Did He Resign?

Raja Singh said he was deeply unhappy with the BJP’s internal decisions — especially regarding the appointment of new state president Ramchander Rao.

He claimed:

  • He wanted to file a nomination for the state BJP president post.
  • But his supporters were threatened and he was not allowed to file the nomination.
  • The party unilaterally appointed their preferred candidate.
  • So, he decided to resign from the party.
  • He visited the party office only to submit his resignation letter.

His Strong Statements:

Raja Singh said:

“I fought hard to bring BJP to power in Telangana, but sadly, many in the party don’t want BJP to actually win here.
My family and I are under threat from terrorists, yet I worked for the party without expecting anything.
But now, I’m giving the party a ‘love letter’ (resignation letter) and walking away.
This resignation reflects the pain of lakhs of party workers.
Though I’m leaving BJP, I will continue to fight for Hindutva.”

What Happens Next?

Now that Raja Singh has resigned from BJP:

  • He is no longer a BJP MLA, even though he was elected on their party symbol.
  • BJP leader Kishan Reddy is expected to inform the Speaker and take action on his MLA status.
