Medical Stipend Increased: Telangana Government Announces Hike for Medical Students

Hyderabad, 30 June – (www.deccanlive.com): The Telangana government has given good news to medical students. The government has officially announced a big increase in stipends for students studying UG and PG medical courses in the state.

The medical stipend has been raised by around 15%, and an official order (GO) has been issued by the Health Department. The increased stipend will be given to House Surgeons, PG (Postgraduate Degree and Diploma) students, Super-specialty medical and dental trainees, and Senior Residents.

The new stipend rates will be applicable from January 1, 2025.

Here are the updated stipend details:

House Surgeons (Medical/Dental):

  • Old: ₹25,906 → New: ₹29,792 per month

PG Degree (Medical):

  • 1st Year: ₹67,032
  • 2nd Year: ₹70,757
  • 3rd Year: ₹74,482

PG Diploma:

  • 1st Year: ₹67,032
  • 2nd Year: ₹70,757

Super-Specialty (Medical):

  • 1st Year: ₹1,06,461
  • 2nd Year: ₹1,11,785
  • 3rd Year: ₹1,17,103

Super-Specialty (Dental – MDS):

  • 1st Year: ₹67,032
  • 2nd Year: ₹70,757
  • 3rd Year: ₹74,482

Senior Residents:

  • New Stipend: ₹1,06,461

This decision will benefit MBBS, Dental (BDS), MDS, and super-specialty doctors studying in government medical colleges.
