“Won’t Give Up an Inch of Mosque or Dargah”: Asaduddin Owaisi Warns Government on Waqf Bill (Video)

New Delhi, 4 February – (DeccanLive.com): AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi strongly opposed the proposed amendments to the Waqf Act during a Lok Sabha session. He warned the central government that if the amendments are introduced in their current form, they would violate Articles 25, 26, and 14 of the Constitution and lead to social instability in the country.
Owaisi declared that the Muslim community has rejected the proposed amendments. He warned, “If this law is passed, no Waqf property will be safe. You talk about building a developed India, and we support that, but you want to take the country back to the 1980s and 1990s. If that happens, the responsibility will be on you.”
Reiterating his commitment to protecting Waqf properties, Owaisi said, “As a proud Indian Muslim, I will not lose even an inch of my mosque or Dargah. I will not allow this to happen. We are no longer here for mere diplomatic talks. In this House, I say with full honesty that my community, proud Indian Muslims, will not give up their properties. These properties are ours, not gifts from anyone, and no one can take them away from us because Waqf is a form of worship for us.”
The Waqf Act has already sparked widespread debate across the country. Several organizations and Muslim leaders have raised objections to the proposed changes. The JPC (Joint Parliamentary Committee) formed to review the Waqf Act has submitted its report to the Lok Sabha Speaker.
