A major robbery took place early on Sunday, 30 November, in Talab Katta in the Old City of Hyderabad. Two armed robbers allegedly entered a house, overpowered the owner, and escaped with ₹40 lakh in cash.

The incident happened around 5 a.m., in a lane opposite the Bhavani Nagar Police Station.

According to the police, businessman Mohammed Sultan was at home when two men knocked on his door. As soon as he opened it, the robbers pushed their way inside and threatened him with a knife.

One of the robbers tied Sultan’s hands with a rope, while the other searched the house. They eventually found a bag containing ₹40 lakh, took it, and fled from the spot.

Sultan, who runs a bangles business, had recently sold a property in Bihar. He brought the cash to Hyderabad to purchase a new property.

After the robbers escaped, Sultan managed to free himself and alerted the local residents.

Police arrived soon after receiving the information and started an investigation. Special teams have been formed. Officers suspect that someone who knew about the cash inside the house may have planned the robbery.
