Mob Lynching in Indore: Man Beaten to Death, Suffers 40+ Fractures

Indore, 17 July – (www.deccanlive.com): A horrifying mob lynching took place in Indore, Madhya Pradesh, where a 28-year-old man named Upendra Singh Thakur was beaten to death by a group of workers and guards. They suspected him of stealing iron rods from a construction site.

The brutal attack happened in Azad Nagar area on Sunday night. According to CCTV footage, Upendra was caught near the construction site and was beaten badly with sticks. Local people found him in a semi-conscious state and informed the police. His family rushed him to MY Hospital, but he died during treatment.

Doctors said that Upendra had over 40 fractures in his body. His ribs, arms, and legs were all broken. The post-mortem report confirmed that he died due to internal bleeding and serious injuries caused by the beating.

Police have identified the attackers using CCTV footage and detained several suspects. The accused admitted to the beating and claimed that Upendra was stealing. They said they used sticks to hit him.

Upendra’s family is in deep shock. His nephew, Golu Thakur, cried in front of Azad Nagar police station while holding Upendra’s body. He said, “My uncle was the only one earning for our family. His mother is now left alone. They beat him like an animal and left him to die.” The family denied all theft charges and said there was no personal enmity.

Police are continuing the investigation and have assured strict action against those responsible.
