Who Will Be the Next Vice President?

Speaking about the possible candidates, a BJP leader said, “We are currently discussing this matter. I believe the party will select someone who is a strong and non-controversial figure.” He added that an experienced party leader might be the preferred choice.

Resigned Before Completing Term

Some sources say that Harivansh Narayan Singh, a JD(U) MP and the Deputy Chairman of the Rajya Sabha, is also being considered. He has held this post since 2020 and is trusted by the government.

Jagdeep Dhankhar, aged 74, became Vice President in 2022. His term was supposed to last until 2027, but he has resigned two years early.
