HCA Scam: Uppal Circle Inspector Election Reddy Suspended

Hyderabad, 17 July – (www.deccanlive.com): Uppal Circle Inspector (CI) Election Reddy has been suspended by the Telangana government for his alleged involvement in the Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCA) scam. It was found that he helped HCA General Secretary Devaraj by leaking important information from the CID (Crime Investigation Department).

The CID is currently preparing to arrest Devaraj. Since CI Election Reddy gave him advance information about the CID’s investigation, he was suspended from duty.

Meanwhile, the Telangana Cricket Association (TCA) has filed a fresh complaint with the CID, demanding an investigation into political links in the HCA scam. In the complaint, TCA mentioned the names of former minister K.T. Rama Rao (KTR) and MLC Kavitha, requesting an inquiry into their possible role.

TCA members met with CID Additional DGP Charu Sinha and alleged that powerful politicians like KTR and Kavitha were behind the illegal activities in the HCA. They also mentioned other accused people like Jaganmohan Rao, John Manoj, Vijayanand, Purushottam Agarwal, Surender Agarwal, and Vanka Pratap, and demanded an investigation against them too.

Recently, due to a controversy between HCA and IPL franchise Sunrisers Hyderabad, the CID arrested HCA President Jaganmohan Rao, along with Treasurer Srinivas Rao, CEO Sunil Kanteti, and members of the Srichakra Cricket Club including General Secretary Rajender Yadav and President Kavitha.

According to the CID, Jaganmohan Rao entered the HCA through illegal means. Following these developments, the Malkajgiri Court has sent all the accused to 12-day judicial remand.
