15 Software Engineers Arrested in Gachibowli for Buying Ganja

Hyderabad, 13 July – (www.deccanlive.com): In Hyderabad, the police exposed a ganja (marijuana) racket targeting IT employees. The Eagle Team conducted a special decoy operation and caught a drug peddler named Sandeep. He was found selling ganja near IT campuses and tech corridors, which shocked the officials due to the large-scale usage and sales in these areas.
Sandeep used the code word “Baccha Aagaya” to communicate with customers and created a WhatsApp group with 100 members. Most of these members were software engineers.
To catch the buyers, the police ran a sting operation. In this operation, 15 software engineers who came to buy ganja were arrested. It was confirmed that they were in contact with Sandeep and had received messages from him regarding drug sales.
Police said that youth working in areas like Gachibowli, Madhapur, and Kukatpally are becoming addicted to ganja, and that software professionals are increasingly involved in drug use.
