Attention Hajj 2025 Pilgrims: Saudi Government Announces Mandatory Requirement!

Jeddah, 25 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Saudi government has made the meningitis vaccine mandatory for all Hajj 2025 pilgrims. Both local and international pilgrims must take the vaccine to be allowed for Hajj.
The Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah stated that without the vaccine, pilgrims cannot book Hajj packages or complete registration. This rule is to prevent the spread of diseases in crowded places during Hajj.
The ministry explained that meningitis spreads quickly in large gatherings, making vaccination essential. Saudi Arabia has started preparations for Hajj 2025 and has signed agreements with many countries, including India.
Important Guidelines for Pilgrims:
- All pilgrims must take the quadrivalent (ACYW135) vaccine against meningitis.
- The vaccine should be taken at least 10 days before arrival but not more than 3 years old at the time of travel.
- Domestic pilgrims must take the vaccine at least 10 days before Hajj.
- Those already vaccinated within the last five years do not need another dose.
- Pilgrims are also advised to take influenza and COVID-19 vaccines for extra safety.
- The vaccination can be booked through the Sehhaty app of Saudi Arabia’s Health Ministry.
Food Restrictions:
- Pilgrims cannot bring fresh food into Saudi Arabia.
- Only canned or sealed food in small, easy-to-inspect containers is allowed.
Hajj 2025 is expected to take place from June 4 to June 9. Pilgrims must follow all health guidelines to ensure a safe and smooth Hajj experience.
