Total Muslim Population in Telangana: 44.57 Lakh – Caste-Based Survey Report Approved in Assembly

Hyderabad, 4 February (DeccanLive.com) – The Telangana Assembly approved a caste-based family survey report. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy presented the survey details in the Assembly on Tuesday afternoon.

During his presentation, the Chief Minister shared that the total Muslim population in Telangana is 44,57,012, making up 12.56% of the state’s total population.

Out of this:

• The population of BC Muslims is 35,76,588, which is 10% of the total.
• The population of OC Muslims is 8,80,424, accounting for 2.48%.

For other groups:

• The Scheduled Castes (SC) population is 61,84,319, which is 17.43% of the total.
• The Backward Classes (BC), excluding BC Muslims, account for 1,64,09,179, making up 46.25%.
• The Scheduled Tribes (ST) population is 37,05,929, which is 10.45%.
• The upper caste (OC) population is 56,01,539, or 15.79% of the total.

The Chief Minister explained that a sticker was placed on every house during the survey process. Each enumerator was tasked with surveying no more than ten households daily. A workforce of 76,000 data entry operators was employed to computerize the details of all families within 36 days.
