Hyderabad, 20 March – (www.deccanlive.com): A tragic incident took place in Hyderabad where a man committed suicide due to continuous harassment from his wife.

According to reports, Mohammad Nawaz, a resident of Bodmi village in Banswada Mandal, Nizamabad district, had a love marriage with a girl named Shweta Reddy from the Jedimetla area. The couple was living in Krishna Nagar, and Nawaz worked as a cameraman in the film industry.

Soon after marriage, conflicts started between the couple. Shweta Reddy filed harassment cases against Nawaz at Karimnagar, Balanagar, and Banswada police stations. After police counseling, the couple resumed living together in Krishna Nagar.

On the evening of March 16, Nawaz called his mother, Sabira Begum, and cried while complaining about his wife’s harassment.

Nawaz informed his mother that his wife, Shweta, was pressuring him to transfer property worth ₹30 lakh in his native village to her name. He said that Shweta had hired local thugs to assault him and had also tortured him by keeping him hungry for several days.

Nawaz also told his mother that Shweta often threatened to file a police complaint against him and send him to jail.

Feeling hopeless, Nawaz told his mother that there was no point in living such a life and feared that one day his wife might kill him. He said that he had no option left but to commit suicide.

Later that night, Nawaz hanged himself in his room.

The next morning, Nawaz’s mother filed a complaint at the Jubilee Hills Police Station, alleging that her son committed suicide due to harassment from his wife. The police have registered a case and started an investigation.
