Delimitation Meeting in Hyderabad on April 14: Revanth Reddy

Hyderabad, 23 March – (www.deccanlive.com): Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has announced that a meeting on delimitation (redrawing of constituencies) will be held in Hyderabad on April 14, coinciding with Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Jayanthi. The Telangana government will organize this event, inviting leaders from similar-minded states, social activists, and intellectuals to participate.
CM Revanth Reddy has urged other states to pass a resolution on delimitation in their legislative assemblies, just as Telangana plans to do. He also proposed further discussions in Hyderabad to continue the fight for fair representation.
The meeting will highlight concerns that if constituencies are redrawn based on population, South Indian states may suffer losses, along with some North Indian states. After the meeting, a public gathering will be held at Parade Grounds.
It remains uncertain whether BRS leader and former CM KCR will attend the meeting. Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu CM M.K. Stalin, during a recent delimitation meeting in Chennai, confirmed that the second round of discussions will be held in Hyderabad.
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy has announced that a resolution on delimitation will soon be passed in the state assembly. He urged other states to do the same and invited fellow Chief Ministers and political leaders to support this cause. He also stated that the next meeting on delimitation will be held in Hyderabad, where further strategies will be discussed. To involve the public in this movement, a large public gathering will also be organized, encouraging all South Indian states to unite for their rights.
Respect for North India, No Compromise on South’s Rights
CM Revanth Reddy firmly stated that South Indian states will not compromise on their rights. Speaking at a delimitation meeting in Chennai, he emphasized that India’s Constitution, written by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, upholds federalism, social justice, and equal rights. However, he warned that using delimitation as a political tool to weaken these principles would not be accepted.
“We respect North India, but we will not compromise on the rights of the South,” he declared. He further said that Chennai has initiated this struggle, and Hyderabad will take it forward until justice is served.
