Circle Inspector and Two Constables Caught Red-Handed Taking Bribe in Telangana’s Makthal

Narayanpet, 18 February – (www.deccanlive.com): In Telangana’s Narayanpet district, a Circle Inspector (CI) and two constables were caught red-handed by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) while taking a bribe in Makthal.

The CI, Chandrasekhar, and constables Shiva Reddy and Narsimha were arrested at the police station for accepting a bribe of Rs. 20,000 in a case. The incident unfolded when Sindhya Venkat Ramulu, a resident of Mahbubnagar, who had established the “Sri Nidhi Finance Society” in Makthal, approached the police. Ramulu had several cases against him, including a recent kidnapping case. The High Court had granted him bail with certain conditions, one of which was to report to the Makthal police station.

After appearing at the police station, Ramulu met with CI Chandrasekhar and sought his help to influence the case in his favor. Following this, Narsimha, a writer at the police station, demanded a bribe of Rs. 20,000 from Ramulu.

On Tuesday morning at 11 a.m., constables Narsimha and Shiva were caught by the ACB while accepting the bribe inside the police station on the instructions of CI Chandrasekhar. Both constables were immediately taken into custody.

Narsimha confessed to the ACB that he had taken the bribe on behalf of CI Chandrasekhar. As a result, a corruption case was also filed against Chandrasekhar. The ACB DSP confirmed that the Rs. 20,000 taken from the accused had been recovered.
