Israel Killing 27 Children Daily in Gaza: UNICEF

Gaza, 12 July – (PIC): Israel’s ongoing war in Gaza has turned the region into rubble and has caused the daily killing of innocent children. According to UNICEF’s spokesperson in Palestine, Kazem Abu Khalaf, an average of 27 children are being killed every day in Gaza since the war began in October 2023.

In an interview with Al Jazeera, Abu Khalaf called this a shocking tragedy. He said such a large-scale killing of children has no explanation and is a direct violation of human rights, morality, and international laws.

UNICEF also revealed that more than 5,000 children in Gaza are suffering from severe malnutrition just in the month of May. These children have become so weak that their bones are visible. They have no food, no medicine, and are slowly dying. Their only cry is: “Is our only fault that we are Palestinians?”

Official data from Gaza’s Media Office, UNICEF, and the UN Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) shows that over 18,000 children have been killed by Israeli bombing and gunfire since the war began.

In just the last month, 66 children died from hunger and malnutrition alone. These children died because Israel has fully blocked Gaza, stopping the supply of milk, medicine, food, and other basic needs. Bombing continues every day, and hospitals are running out of medicine. Gaza has turned into an open graveyard.

All of this is happening in front of a world that claims to stand for human rights. But when it comes to Palestinian children, the world seems to stay silent. Israel’s actions are now being seen as an attempt to wipe out future generations of Palestinians.
