Telangana Government Takes Strict Action Against Online Betting

Hyderabad, 26 March – (www.deccanlive.com): The Telangana government has made a significant decision regarding online betting and gaming apps. Chief Minister Revanth Reddy announced that the government will take strict action against online betting platforms and has decided to form a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to tackle the issue.
Speaking in the Assembly, CM Revanth Reddy emphasized that laws need to be amended to impose stricter punishments on those involved in online betting crimes. He urged opposition parties to support the government in taking firm action against offenders.
The CM also highlighted concerns about the rising supply of banned substances like gutka. He stated that the SIT will not only investigate online betting but also take action against those who promote and advertise such activities. The government is committed to stopping all forms of online betting and ensuring strict enforcement of the law.
Telangana CM Revanth Reddy strongly criticized the previous government for failing to take action on major crimes, including the brutal murder of lawyer Vaman Rao and the Disha rape case. He pointed out that in 2020, Telangana ranked fourth in crimes against women.
The CM also mentioned that the sons of BRS leaders were involved in the Jubilee Hills pub assault case. He stressed that peace and security in the state are crucial for attracting investments and accused the opposition of spreading false propaganda to hinder Telangana’s development.
Revanth Reddy condemned the opposition for attacking the government’s efforts and urged them to act responsibly. He emphasized that Telangana leads in price control and accused rivals of spreading negativity for political gain.
He also criticized KCR’s family, stating that their internal rivalries had become a curse for the state. The CM asserted that his government does not believe in fake promises and only speaks about what has been done. He accused the previous government of making unrealistic budget announcements that never translated into action.
