Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian Injured in Alleged Israeli Attack

Tehran, 13 July – (www.deccanlive.com): Iran’s news agency Fars has revealed that President Masoud Pezeshkian was injured during an Israeli attack in Tehran last month. The attack reportedly targeted a meeting of Iran’s top security council.
According to the agency, the attack happened on June 16, and President Pezeshkian suffered a minor injury on his leg. At the time, key leaders of Iran’s three branches of power and senior officials were present in the meeting.
Right after the attack, the officials escaped safely through an emergency exit, which was specially prepared for such situations. They were meeting in the lower floors of the building when the incident happened.
Fars also suggested that Israel had inside information about the meeting, pointing to possible internal spying, which is now being investigated by Iranian authorities.
The report also said the attack was planned in a way similar to a past attack on former Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah.
A total of six bombs or missiles were launched, mainly targeting the entrance and exit routes of the building, possibly to block any escape and cut off airflow inside. The explosions also knocked out the building’s power, but officials still managed to escape through the emergency route.
In an interview last week with American journalist Tucker Carlson, President Pezeshkian accused Israel of trying to assassinate him. He said:
“Yes, they tried. They took a step in that direction, but they failed.”
He added:
“It wasn’t America behind it — it was Israel. I was in an important meeting, and the exact area where we were was targeted.”
Pezeshkian stated that he is not afraid to die for his country’s independence, and if his sacrifice could bring peace to the region, he is ready for it. But he also questioned,
“Will this really bring peace?”
