Bob Vylan Group’s U.S. Visas Cancelled for Chanting Against Israeli Army

London, 1 July – (www.deccanlive.com): The U.S. has cancelled the visas of a British music group, Bob Vylan, after they chanted slogans against the Israeli army during a performance at the Glastonbury Festival.

During their show, the group shouted “Down with the Israeli Army” and expressed solidarity with women and children suffering in Gaza due to the ongoing war. In response, the U.S. government revoked their visas on Monday as a sign of support for the Israeli army and disapproval of the group’s actions.

Christopher Landau, the U.S. Deputy Secretary of State, wrote on social media platform X (formerly Twitter):

“Foreigners who promote violence and hate are not welcome in our country.”

The BBC also faced criticism for broadcasting the performance live. Although BBC displayed a warning on screen during the broadcast, it later admitted on Monday that “more should have been done.”

The Bob Vylan group had also shouted slogans like “Free Palestine” and “Down with Israel” to show support for the Palestinian people during their act.
