Telangana pharma plant Tragedy: Death Toll Rises to 42

Hyderabad, 1 July – (www.deccanlive.com): The tragic incident at the Sigachi Chemicals factory in Pashamylaram, Sangareddy district, has become even more devastating. Officials have confirmed 42 deaths so far due to the massive explosion and fire accident.

Rescue Operations Continue

  • Debris removal is still ongoing at the factory’s admin building, and the final death toll may increase only after this process is complete.
  • Around 20 more people are believed to be trapped under the rubble, raising concerns that the death toll may rise to 55.
  • The collapsed plant is being cleared by rescue teams.
  • Many of the bodies are in an unrecognizable condition.

Identity and Handing Over of Bodies

  • Most of the deceased are reportedly from Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh.
  • Only 6 bodies have been identified so far.
  • Bodies will be handed over to families only after DNA testing.

Earlier this morning, the Sangareddy District Collector Praveenya issued an official statement, providing details about the incident, the number of casualties, and the ongoing rescue and relief operations.
