Tragic End of Interfaith Love Marriage – Muslim Girl from Uttar Pradesh Dies by Suicide in Hyderabad

Hyderabad, 17 July – (www.deccanlive.com): A heartbreaking incident took place in Hyderabad where a Muslim girl from Uttar Pradesh died by suicide after facing rejection and pressure due to her interfaith marriage with a non-Muslim boy.

According to police, the victim was 29-year-old Asiya Hussain Khan. She had been living in Hyderabad for the past three years and was working in the catering business. During this time, she met 21-year-old Pawan Kumawat, a man from Rajasthan. They fell in love and got married four months ago despite belonging to different religions.

However, after the marriage, Pawan’s family, who live in the KPHB Colony, refused to accept Asiya. On July 10, the couple visited Pawan’s family, which led to a major argument. Asiya returned to her rented house in Lakshmi Nagar, under Amberpet Police Station limits, while Pawan stayed with his family.

On Tuesday afternoon, the house owner called Pawan asking him to pay the rent. Pawan assured him that he would come and vacate the house. When Pawan reached the house in the evening, he found Asiya hanging from the ceiling fan. She had died by suicide.

Shocked and devastated by Asiya’s death, Pawan also hanged himself from the same fan.

Local residents informed the police on Wednesday night. The police took both bodies into custody and sent them for post-mortem. A case has been registered, and investigations are underway.

Initial investigation suggests that the reasons behind the suicide could be social pressure, rejection by family, ongoing arguments, and financial stress.
