Telangana CM Revanth Reddy Demands Vice President Position for Bandaru Dattatreya

New Delhi, 23 July – (www.deccanlive.com): Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has made a sensational statement regarding the vacant Vice President post after Jagdeep Dhankhar’s resignation. Speaking to the media in Delhi on Wednesday (July 23), he demanded that the BJP should nominate Bandaru Dattatreya for the Vice President position.
Revanth Reddy said that giving this post to Dattatreya would ensure justice for the Backward Classes (BCs) and also bring due respect to Telugu people. He clarified that he was not speaking on behalf of the INDIA alliance but as a representative of the people of Telangana. He also added that if the NDA nominates Dattatreya, he would discuss with the INDIA alliance to support him.
It is known that Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar resigned from his post due to health reasons. President Droupadi Murmu has accepted his resignation, leaving the Vice President’s post vacant. The Election Commission has already started preparations for conducting the Vice President elections.
Several names are being discussed for the role, including Bihar CM Nitish Kumar, current Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman Harivansh Narayan Singh, Delhi Lt. Governor VK Saxena, and J\&K Lt. Governor Manoj Sinha.
In this context, Revanth Reddy’s proposal of senior Telangana politician Bandaru Dattatreya has become a topic of discussion. Dattatreya, a veteran BJP leader, has served as an MP, MLA, and most recently as the Governor of Haryana. His term ended recently, and he is currently not holding any position. It remains to be seen if the NDA considers Revanth Reddy’s demand and includes Dattatreya in the race for Vice President.
