Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza Worsens as Israel Blocks Aid

Gaza, 3 March – (www.deccanlive.com): Israel has blocked the entry of aid trucks into Gaza, creating a new crisis in the ceasefire agreement. In response, Hamas has appealed to Egypt and Qatar to mediate and help maintain the agreement.

The office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu stated that they have accepted a proposal from Donald Trump’s envoy, Steve Witkoff, which suggests a ceasefire during Ramadan and Passover.

Israel demands that Hamas first release half of the hostages, both alive and dead, in the initial phase, while the remaining hostages will be released after a permanent ceasefire agreement.

Hamas has rejected Israel’s proposal, stating that it remains committed to the original ceasefire agreement, which included discussions on a permanent ceasefire in the second phase of negotiations. According to Hamas, a 42-day temporary extension of the ceasefire is not acceptable.

With aid being blocked, the humanitarian crisis in Gaza has worsened. Local authorities and human rights organizations are demanding immediate entry of aid trucks to address the severe shortages of food, water, and medicine.
