Waqf Amendment Bill 2025: All India Muslim Personal Law Board Calls It Dangerous, Plans Nationwide Protest and Legal Action

New Delhi, 4 April (www.deccanlive.com): Despite serious objections raised by the All India Muslim Personal Law Board, many Muslim organizations, citizens, and civil society members, the Waqf (Amendment) Bill 2025 has been passed in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha.

Reacting strongly to this, Maulana Mohammad Fazlur Rahim Mujaddidi, General Secretary of the Personal Law Board, called the passing of the bill a “dark chapter” and “shameful act” for the world’s largest democracy.

He said the ruling party, blinded by power, is crossing all limits and spreading communal hatred in the country to hide its own failures. He added that this bill is part of that agenda. Even though the bill is being falsely presented as “pro-Muslim”, it is completely unacceptable to the Muslim community.

The Board expressed regret that the government ignored serious concerns raised by the Personal Law Board and other Muslim groups. Even the voices of opposition parties and civil society were not considered. Such behavior, according to the Board, is not appropriate for a democratic nation.

Board to Launch Nationwide Protest

The Personal Law Board has announced that it will not stay silent. A peaceful nationwide protest will be launched, and after proper groundwork, legal action will also be taken in court. A detailed consultation process is already underway for this campaign, and its schedule will be announced soon.

The Board said that their protest will be within the legal and constitutional limits but will be strong and impactful, Insha’Allah.

Call for Unity

The Board has appealed to all Muslims and justice-loving citizens of India to stay united and be ready to respond when the Board officially announces the protest. The aim is to pressure the government to realize its mistake and take the bill back.

The All India Muslim Personal Law Board has strongly criticized the Waqf Amendment Bill, calling it dangerous and harmful in its content. The Board warned that this bill will create serious problems in the future and demanded that the government immediately withdraw it.

After the bill was introduced in the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha, opposition parties strongly opposed it. Their united and well-prepared stance brought some relief to the Muslim community. The Board appreciated and thanked all opposition leaders and MPs for standing against the bill and for showing sensitivity to Muslim concerns. It also expressed hope that these parties would continue to support the campaign against the bill in the future.

Criticism of BJP Allies

However, the Board condemned the behavior of BJP allies like Nitish Kumar, Chandrababu Naidu, Chirag Paswan, and Jayant Chaudhary. The Board said that Muslims had always supported these leaders because of their secular image, but now feel betrayed by their support of the bill. This betrayal, the Board said, would never be forgotten and these leaders would have to face the consequences.

The Board also called on Muslims who are associated with these parties to rethink their position. It questioned whether it was right for individual political interests to be placed above the concerns of the entire Muslim community. The Board said it was deeply disappointing.

Stand of the Personal Law Board

The Personal Law Board made it clear that it would not step back from its stand under any pressure, threat, or false claims. It will not withdraw its demands. Whenever sacrifice is needed, the Board will lead from the front.

The Board also said it is not alone in this struggle. The entire Muslim community stands united and strongly behind the Board in this fight.
