Separate Ward for Muslims in Hospital: BJP MLA Ketki Singh Appeals to CM Yogi

Ballia, 11 March – (www.deccanlive.com): BJP MLA Ketki Singh from Bansdih has made a controversial demand, asking Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to create a separate hospital ward for Muslims. She stated that having a separate wing or building for Muslims would make the Hindu community feel safer.

During a media interaction in Ballia on Monday, Singh expressed concerns that Muslims might feel uncomfortable getting treated alongside Hindus, especially during festivals like Holi, Diwali, and Ram Navami. She suggested that since significant funds are being spent on medical facilities, a separate space should be allocated for Muslim patients.

Her remarks have since gone viral on social media, drawing mixed reactions. Singh further justified her demand by saying that a separate ward would ensure better hygiene and safety, indirectly suggesting that Hindus might face health risks otherwise.

This statement comes after the recent announcement of a medical college for Ballia in the Uttar Pradesh budget. Singh thanked CM Yogi Adityanath and credited the public for this development but sparked controversy with her comments about segregation in hospitals.
