Israeli Tourist and Homestay Owner Gang-Raped in Karnataka; One Found Dead

Bengaluru, 8 March – (www.deccanlive.com): An Israeli female tourist and a homestay owner were gang-raped by three men in Karnataka’s Hampi. The incident took place on the night of March 6 at around 11:30 PM near the Tungabhadra canal, where the women were sitting.
The victim was accompanied by three other tourists—one named Daniel from the U.S., and two others from Maharashtra and Odisha. The attackers assaulted the men and pushed them into the canal. Tragically, the tourist from Odisha drowned and lost his life.
The homestay owner filed a complaint stating that she and her four guests went to the Tungabhadra Left Bank Canal after dinner to watch the stars. Around that time, three men arrived on a bike.
Initially, the men asked where they could find petrol and then demanded ₹100 from the Israeli woman. When she refused, the accused attacked them, gang-raped the women, and fled on their bike.
Koppal SP Ram L. Arasiddi stated that as soon as they received the information, they took immediate action. Two special teams have been assigned to track down the accused. Their identities have been confirmed, and they will be arrested soon. A case has been registered under charges of rape and robbery.
