Warangal, 8 March – (www.deccanlive.com): A tragic accident occurred in Warangal district when a car lost control and plunged into the SRSP Canal. A 2-year-old boy died, while his father and 5-year-old daughter went missing along with the car. The mother managed to escape with her life.

Praveen Somarapu (30), an LIC Development Officer in Hanumakonda, was traveling with his wife Krishnaveni, daughter Chaitra Sai (5), and son Aryavardhan (2) to their native village, Mecharajupalli, in Mahabubabad district. Around 10 AM on Saturday, they reached the outskirts of Teegarajupalli in Parvathagiri Mandal, Warangal district.

While driving, Praveen suddenly experienced chest pain. Believing it to be a heart attack, he decided to return to Hanumakonda for medical help. However, as he tried to turn back, the pain intensified and he lost control of the car, which then plunged into the SRSP Canal.

As the car sank, Krishnaveni tried to escape by opening the door. She managed to get out but struggled in the water. Her 2-year-old son was with her but drowned before rescuers could help. Locals pulled Krishnaveni out, but the car, along with Praveen and Chaitra Sai, was swept away.

Upon being informed, the police rushed to the scene and started search operations for Praveen and his daughter. Due to the strong water flow, canal gates were closed to assist in the rescue. The tragic incident has left Mecharajupalli village in deep sorrow.
